Atlas Comics: The NEW House Of Ideas

Atlas Comics was a line of comics that ran from 1974-1975, although no direct continuation of Marvel's original company name. Created by former Marvel bigwig Martin Goodman after he left the bullpen to form Seaboard Periodicals. Atlas went on to do several insane characters like Satan's daughter Devilina, post-apocalyptic barbarian Ironjaw(no relation to the Golden Age villain), cowboy Kid Colt, two different heroes called Scorpion, and a futuristic swamp thing named Morlock. Their bizarre Bronze Age superheroes, along with "original" titles like Planet Of The Vampires weren't mainstream enough for the time, which lead to their line of comics and magazines to fold, even with branding themselves as The NEW House Of Ideas!
