Phantom Lady Vs. Easter Bunny

Before Fox Features got the rights to Phantom Lady which brought her to the notice of Dr. Frederic Wertham's anti-comics campaign for constantly getting tied up in a very revealing outfit, this woman of wonder wore a less revealing outfit when she was first created for Quality Comics where she was a backup feature for characters like Plastic Man or The Spirit. Sandra Knight led a double life from being a senator's daughter and a caped crimefighter, even though she rarely wore a mask to hide her identity. One of the few cases that Phantom Lady actually had a mask was in Police Comics #18 when her duds were a light swimsuit and green cape as she fought her first costumed supervillain, the dreaded Easter Bunny! Sandra's father has an Easter Egg hunt at his estate hosted by a fursuiter in an unconvincing bunny outfit who has hidden a gold painted egg for the children to find for the prize of a real rabbit. Sandra yet again had to prove how awesome she was even when she isn't in hero mode by claiming the egg while knocking down some innocent kids. The bunnyman Sandra dubbed Uncle Wiggly gets upset when she doesn't give the egg back after noticing that it's ticking, which her boyfriend Don switches for one of the other eggs. They realize that all the golden eggs hidden were in fact time bombs in an assassination attempt on the Senator's life, so Sandra goes behind a bush to change into her pastel threads as Phantom Lady, this time actually wearing a domino mask. The bunny is revealed to be Killer Dan, a criminal sent to jail by Sandra's dad who wanted revenge. Phantom Lady uses one of the "egg-splosions" to throw at the escaping killer's car turning him into rabbit stew. The mystery maid went on to have better adventures in her later years after jumping ship to other publishers, but when your original bad guy is a tacky holiday-themed bungler in a story lasting merely five pages, you are better off waiting until they crank up your sex factor to get the attention of McCarthyism years later.
