Sir "Totally Not The Phantom" Falcon

The Phantom, long-running comics strip character from King Features Syndicate, is to Australia what Batman is like to the rest of the world. Frew Publications distributed the series for its Aussie fans, while at the same time giving other characters their own segments in The Phantom's comic, including the totally "original" character of Phantom Ranger who was a masked cowboy in the old west. The Phantom Ranger creator Peter Chapman also came up with his own spin on the purple-clad jungle lord, except this time as a supposedly 600-year old masked knight. Mr. Knight(yes, that's his real name!)picks up the mantle after his father passes away . He becomes the mysterious man of action known as Sir Falcon who carried a sidearm instead of Excalibur, along with his own wonder dog called Flash. He would be called in from all over the globe to handle cases like the main hero of a Mexican wrestler movie, usually dealing with earthly threats like modern day pirates and sneaky spies. Although no one ever seemed to make the connection between Sir Falcon and Mr. Knight, which is a mystery that even trippy teenagers from a 70s Hanna-Barbera cartoon could figure out.
