From Here To Kid Eternity

Getting billed in his premiere in Hit Comics #25 as the "most sensational hero ever to appear in print", Kid Eternity is a superhero who started his career after he died. Quality Comics already had offbeat characters like Red Bee and Plastic Man, but this prototype for Danny Phantom was created by Shazam founder Otto Binder along with Hawkman artist Sheldon Moldoff already giving him a more whimsical background as opposed to the gruff mystery men of the time. During WWII, the unnamed boy referred to only as Kid is working on his grandpa's merchant boat when it gets torpedoed by Nazis sending our youth to a premature death. Once at the heavenly gates, the doorman can't let Kid in since he wasn't due for another 75 years. The stout spirit Mr. Keeper was in charge of writing down when people die which he finally screwed up after two million years of a spotless record by accidently writing down Kid in his book. To make up for this, Keeper takes Kid back to the world of the living although he is still in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean where he first drowned. Keeper saves him from dying a second time by transporting them to the Corridor of Time which allows them access to all manner of historical figures, including several mythological or fictional ones. From now on, whenever he says "Eternity", Kid can call upon any of these characters for a short amount of time along with being able to turn invisible and intangible like a ghost. After rebranding himself Kid Eternity, the formally dead teenager used his powers while being assisted by Mr. Keeper who here is more like his bumbling older sidekick. His summoning abilities included being able to conjure up other Quality heroes like Blackhawk, but its never revealed if this means that they exist in his own reality as living people or just as comic characters. Despite his curious powers set, Kid had am even more curious recurring arch-nemesis in the elderly criminal mastermind known as Her Highness along with her sexy cohort Silk who both eventually got their own feature in Hit Comics where they would try to scam schmoes out of their cash. Kid Eternity got his own title that lasted for three years before eventually going under at the end of the Golden Age, even though he would later be thawed out decades later by DC Comics who rewrote him as being Captain Marvel Junior's long-lost brother along with getting his solo series under the more mature Vertigo line. Aside from being able to sneak into the girls' locker room undetected, Kid Eternity's talent for calling upon any character's help like they were his own personal Pokemon made for an absurd but effective superpower., His dealings in necromancy might have scared most of the parents during the Satanic panic or people who boycotted Harry Potter.
